Viewpoint Duben
Hello everyone. Here is a new article about a well-known viewpoint located near Zilina. This tourist attraction offers an incredible view of Zilina and allows people to not only enjoy the city´s view but also spend time in nature. I have visited this place twice during the winter and the access to the place was still relatively fine, even though there was a lot of snow.
Where is the viewpoint located?
This special and unique wooden structure is located above the city of Zilina. There are several ways to get here. The first and easiest way is from Zadubnie You go through a path that leads through meadows and then through a forest. The path is marked with tourist signs, so you do not have to worry about getting lost. Another route leads from Zastranie, but I have never gone this way.
If you want to park your car somewhere, I would recommend going from Budatin. This path is also marked with tourist signs. This route won´t take you more than 35 minutes.
Something fascinating about the viewpoint
It is located on the top of Duben, which has an altitude of 613 m. n. m. This metal structure is completed with wooden elements. The viewpoint has 10 floors and the view is truly impressive. Of course, if you are afraid of heights, I wouldn’t recommend going all the way to the top. There is also an area with benches where you can sit and relax.
It is an attraction that is located in the middle of a forest and is open all year round, no matter the weather.
My personal experience
As I have already mentioned, I visited this place twice during the winter months. The first time was about 2 years after the opening and I celebrated the beginning of the New Year here. I have to say, the views were magnificient and even though it was dark, I had the opportunity to see many beautiful fireworks from different parts of the city. I will never forget this amazing experience. We went here from Zadubnie and it was quite difficult to notice some of the tourist signs but other than that, we did not have any problems getting here.
The second time was just after New Year. There was a lot of snow and it was raining, so the road was a little more challenging. The view was not so clear because it was foggy and cloudy, but it didn’t bother me. On the same day, I also went to the viewpoint Divinka, which you can read about in another article on our blog.
